7 Ways To Get Started With Article Writing

Article writing is becoming one of the best ways to get into the search engine rankings and to establish expertise. It can also help you get links and make people want to go to your website to find out what you really sell or do. Here are 7 ways to get started with article writing.

1. Develop a Format
Use what you know from your school days–write the body first, then write two different summaries. Use them to form the introduction and conclusion and write good transitions.

2. Keeping it Clear
You shouldn’t need buzzwords and acronyms to make your writing good–in fact the best article writing is plain and simple. Research has found the people who use a lot of buzzwords seem less intelligent to the public.

3. Stick to the Length
If someone asks you for an article that is 250 words, don’t write 500 because you thought they would appreciate it. They may have limited room, so do what they ask.

4. Use Your Audience’s Language
If you are writing about biology for an audience of biologists, for instance, you can use a word like gamete and get away with it. If you’re writing for a general audience, you’d better explain it.

5. Don’t Write Filler
The best article writing is packed with good information and no sawdust filler. If you have to use filler to make up word space, then you don’t have enough information to offer.

6. Be Honest
Under no circumstances should you cut and paste someone else’s work, nor should you rewrite someone else’s article in your own words. Get your info your self and write it yourself.

7. Don’t Stop With One
Once you have an article or two published, don’t stop–continue establishing your self as a writer and expert.
