I’m going to share with you how to be a public speaker that everyone loves. I’m going to show you the tricks that all speakers use to make themselves look more confident. I’m going to show you how you can get your point across in a very strong manner.

• Stories: You want to be able to effectively tell a story. This is a very old way of communication, but it probably one of the best ways. Back in the caveman days, man desired to tell a story and pain it on the side of caves. Tell stories are in our nature, and the reason they are is because it is the best way to build rapport with people. When you tell a story, you give a glimps of your life to people. You can really show an emotional state, which can help influence your audience. This helps to build rapport and make you come off as a very good speaker.

• Call To Action: You’re giving a speech, not for your health, but for a reason. There’s something you want out of the audience. You here to give them information, but also a call to action. You want the audience to act. If you’re talking about starving children in Africa, than your call to action would be helping them. The point is that you don’t just want to inform the audience, you want them to DO SOMETHING. Always remember that.

• Use Visuals: Having visual aids can really spice up a speech. Sometimes words just can’t make that big of an impact. When you have a visual, like a powerpoint slide, it can really hammer home what you mean. If you’re talking about earthquake victims, the audience may see your speech as just “statistics”, but when they see images of the destruction, they’ll have another view on it.
