Leaders Make Leaders Just As Sheep Make Sheep And Good Leaders Can Inspire An Entire Community

It has been frequently said that if you were to ask any group of people what they would like you to pray for, their answers and responses will be as varied as their fingerprints.

There are so many people around our world in such dire circumstances that they need our prayer support and whatever material and physical help is available.

I remember seeing those on the refuse tips in Nairobi on my way to teach in one of the slums on the south east of the city at Pastors and Leaders Seminars so that those in leadership might be able to help others with such massive problems.

If we can strengthen a group of leaders they in turn will be able to minister to others in various positive ways whereby they can be transformed and strengthened.

When man was created God told him to take care of the earth and in these days we have moved away from this just as we have moved so very far away from other things God has said and instructed.

Good spiritual leadership will be involved in the care of the ecology - simply because God has told us to be good stewards. This is where teaching is crucially important. The answer is spiritual and not simply physical. If only those in Government could see this. Put the spiritual first - put God first - seek first the Kingdom of God and all these other things will follow.

In these needy nations there are teams of people in the front line seeking to help people to grow enough food to feed their families and friends and hopefully sell the surplus. Profit is important in all business and at every level.

Many have found that working together is important - helping each other in each others patches, plots and fields. Teamwork is always important - no matter where you are. Working alongside others has positive outcomes. Teamwork depends so much upon our attitudes.

For many of these poverty stricken rural districts having sheep and goats alive and healthy can be like having a bank account in your back yard.

On my first day in Uganda while walking in the hilly countryside where we were staying it was amazing to see four young children carrying large yellow containers full of water and they were walking over a mile to the burn and another mile or so home. That was a heavy weight for these children of 10 and 11 years.

Another family had just built a toilet. What joy! Previously they waited til night time to visit the woods, and there they faced dangers from snakes and wild dogs.

If any of these people fall sick the situation can become massive and serious.

I wish I could take you to see these people who have had a large water tank built. They no longer need to walk miles each day for water and now they can irrigate a small glade of tropical fruit trees. This was success, prosperity and riches! One man said, “The water tank is God’s biggest ever gift to me.”

Leadership which will encourage those in poverty is so needed. Teaching on the Biblical basics will motivate and inspire. Leaders make leaders, just as sheep make sheep, and with good sensible responsible leaders a whole community can rise.
